Hurricane Season Roof Checklist for Central Florida

Before the season
Clear gutters and downspouts, trim branches that hang over the roof, and have loose or lifted shingles fixed. Take dated photos of your roof now so you have a baseline for any claim.
After a storm
Stay off the roof. From the ground, look for missing shingles, dented vents and debris. Check your ceilings and attic for water spots, then call for an inspection and notify your insurer if you see damage.
